For those of you looking for a nice quality, IN STOCK, economical IWB holster for your S&W semi-auto, take a look at the High Noon "Mr. Softy" (straight) and "Bare Asset" (15 degree cant) models at High Noon Holsters:

http://www.highnoonholsters.com

They are $24.95 plus shipping. I've purchased a few of these over the past few years for various guns, and I really like them. I'm not crazy about the ones for revolvers (but then again, I've never been able to find an IWB revolver holster that I thought was comfortable), but the ones for the semis seem to be a great value.

I ordered one for my new (to me) 908 last week and it arrived today. I am very pleased. The leather is thin, the clip is secure, and the tension screw works great. I noticed on the package that it says that it will fit the following models:

SIG 239, S&W - 457, 469, 669, 908, 3913, 3913TSW, 3914, 3953, 3954, 4013TSW, 4053TSW, 4513TSW, 4516, 6904, 6906, 6924, 6926, 6929, 6944, 6946, and Shorty 40.

I tried both my wife's 3913 with a thinner slide than my 908, and my 457 with a thicker slide, and all 3 guns will fit, with some tension screw adjustment. Now, I wouldn't recommend putting a 457 in it and using it for any length of time and then trying to switch to the thinner, smaller 3913, because of leather stretch and break in, but at $25 apiece, you can have afford to buy 2 and have a holster for each gun. The choice of straight or canted (and R or L) is nice too, and the black color aids in concealment, IMHO. Customer service has always been positive for me, shipping has always been fast, and the warranty is for as long as you own it.

Just wanted to pass on a possible source for those who are in search mode for a decent holster...

Thanks for the tip.

It's nice to know there are still leather makers out there that sale a quality item that you don't have to have a "co-signer" just to buy their products.

Well Moon, to be fair, the Asset and Softy are glove leather unmolded rigs...you could probably make 100 a day with a decent Susquehanna sewing machine....I have a Mr. Softy for my SP101 and use it almost daily....great clip and it is fairly comfortable but I am still looking for a good molded rig for it...for fit, I really like a rig made for a specific gun.

Hey Sip,

Regarding molded leather... Can you carry two different L-frame guns in the same holster, with different cylinder profiles? (5 shot .44 vs. 6 shot .357)

Rob,
While I don't have a 6 shot .357 L to compare my 696 against I'd guess that the slight difference in position of the flute molding for the cylinder would be of little matter? Most of the retention is done via the forming where the frames width and the recoil shield meet.
