Very nice package! I would have done whatever necessary to get that one myself. I just have one H/S, a Tournament - but I'm always on the lookout for good deals on more of them. My shooting buddy has about a half-dozen of them.
I traded a camera for this one about 1980 and still have it.
You obviously got the best end of the deal.
Back then it was a Cannon ae1 program with lots of attachments but today the camera is worth about $30. I had a lot more money in the camera back then than the gun was worth.![]()
That's what I keep telling myself as I currently am negotiating a trade for $1500 in guns against some Canon digital items I paid $6000 for ten years ago...I feel that anytime you can trade for a good firearm, you always come out on top!
I've always been curious about the High Standard target .22s. I've never had one and I'm not looking for an argument, just some general opinions on how they compare from an accuracy perspective with an S&W 41. I'm familiar with only one of those, a 1957 model I've had a long time.

Hmm, where have I seen that gun before? Could it have been facebook? Enjoy! Be sure to join the High Standard page on Rimfire Central!
I've found both High Standards and S&W 41s to be very accurate pistols. Back in the 60s when I was shooting bullseye, I used a 41 for a while and found that while it was accurate, I found that when it became a bit dirty it would begin to malfunction. Because of that, I switched to a Supermatic Citation and didn't experience that problem. I'm not saying that all 41s were like that but that's what I experienced with the one I was issued. Both are well made, accurate target pistols.
