I had literally just bumped into Tom Jones ........ and we were both quite surprised.
If you are/were a D.C. area local, you may remember the "Windjammer Lounge" (1970's) at the big Ramada Inn just off the beltway in Landover. There was a dramatically lit long round arched hallway leading to the lounge. I had just started walking down it with a date to do some dancing/romancing there. As we started down the hall, another couple started coming towards us from the other end. The lady was a jaw dropping gorgeous tall long haired blond in a short glimmering silver dress. UH-OH
. I knew that staring at her while walking down the hall with my date would be a huge mistake. So I ignored her (against all of my male instincts) and engaged my date in conversation while looking at HER. The other fellow must have been fully engaged with his "Ms. Gorgeous" also. Instead of us just passing by each other, we both drifted off course and slammed into each other with our left shoulders. We stopped and he quickly said "Oh ..excuse me " with an accent in an amused and friendly way. I'm not sure what I said. Maybe I didn't even say anything ... except ... uhhhhh . Maybe I opened my mouth to say "excuse ME" and it just got stuck open when I realized the guy was Tom Jones 
. Yep, Tom Jones was in town for a concert at the nearby Capital Centre. As the video shows, Tom has still got it at age 84
