At those kinda prices someone soon will be making and marking them in their basement...
I saw it happen with Colt's and Winchesters before that.
I would speculate by saying unhappy...Wow, I wonder if the guy that stopped bidding at $11k is feeling depressed or relieved at having lost this one.
There must be a bit more to the story than we know - for someone to spend that kind of money on a K22. Never thought someone would go THAT high!
Now where are the winers who don't like the nickel finish? Kidding lol
This was a rare, not so many manufactured nickel finish m17's going for 11+k right?
So where does that leave the values on all the other nickel finish revolvers?
I GOTS TO KNOW?
What's my S&W m27-2 6" barrel in 99.99% condition in nickel finish worth now?
How about the last m57 & m24 still unshot, 6" barrels in nickel still new but with the loc?
My point is the m17 set the standards for the other nickeled revolvers they won't be worth 11k but there value has to go up even on the last nickel guns.
Maybe I'm wrong about the other nickeled guns?
I think the difference between the 17-3 and the guns you mentioned are that the model 17 was not ever offered stock in the nickle finish. It was something that must be special ordered.
I am sure other models may demand some premium because of limited production but no offered production is a whole other thing to at least consider.
Wow I will have to double check the serial number but to think I had the opportunity to buy a documented nickel 17 in same condition if not the same gun for 3000 about 3 months ago and passed since I thought it was top dollar go figure..
It can be done and done so legally without playing games... PM me privately..Serious question: since the single shot exemption law changed Jan 1 how are you getting it into the state ? Is it rare enough to be considered a C&R by the ATF ?
I haven't seen any 22 ammo in years anyway so I know you won't be shooting it![]()
... So are you gonna shoot it?
