Nickel 39-2 question?

I'm considering buying my first S&W semi auto and was curious about the black controls on the one i'm looking at. I saw one at a gun show that had nickel but it sold before i got to it. BTW is 800 about the going price for one of these w/box and papers?

The $800 price seems awful high to me. But, in todays market everything seems high to me.

Shooter-2, don't know where in MO. you are, but around St.Charles & Warrenton that should be about $150 - $200 less.

Not too far, I drove past there for an Ithaca 37.
LGS in Warrenton sold a 5906(not nickel) last week for $300.
Keep an eye on Armslist, shop in St. Charles seems to get the 3rd gens in
fairly often.

There is a thread about Nickel 39-2 and their controls, blued or nickel. IMHO $800 is a very good price for the pistol with box and papers. They are going for $1200 - $1400 on gunbroker for a LNIB nickel.

Appears to not only be correct and original, but in excellent condition. With box and papers, $800 today is a good price. Most in the condition pictured and with correct box and papers will be $1000+.

I think I have seen this gun before. Should have the correct set of factory grips and numbered blue box. The asking price is fair.
