Years ago I had a Nickled 4" 586,unfortunitly I sold it. Is there a premium for nickled "L" frames? I ran across a 6" nickled with box with only 12 rounds thru it. Asking price is $550.00

586s, 686s, I think the going rate is around $500 if in real nice cond...$550 doesn't seem to far out for a Gun store but a little high to me..As far as the nickle bringing more money, maybe but I doubt it, I just don't see the demand, but could be wrong

I paid $570 for my 586 4" nickel at a local gun shop w/ no box or history. $550 for a 6" w/ box in essentially mint condition sounds pretty good to me, especially if you can get him to go lower on the price. Do you know what "dash" it is (e.g. 586-1) and if it has an "M" stamped next to the model number? Do a search on 586 recall and you can read up on the issue some 586 owners have had with them. I love my 586.

i personally have not seen many nickel 586's so $550 sounds like a great deal...

Since this 581 blued just sold for $650, you won't get my 586 Nickled for less than$600.

I paid $450 for a six inch nickle 586 a few weeks ago a very nice one -- but I would have paid $550 if that had been needed

Would anybody else agree that the L-frames are "sleepers"? I've had mod. 19's and a Python or 2 also but I have a 6" 586 that is, for me, the quintessential gun for that caliber. My opinion might change if I ever got to shoot a mod. 27 however, I dunno...
