night sights

I am thinking about night sights. I haven't seen a lot of sources beyond what is up in the sticky thread on parts. Any other sources? Couple of questions:

1. best color?
2. how the heck do you install front sight? The stock sight looks like it was melted and/or glued.
3. how do the lights power?
4. do the lights turn on/off?

I can answer #2,#3,#4 for you.

I have green. They are nice and bright. I don't know if it is the "best" color though.

The front sight comes out with a little tug using pliers. The rear sight can be knocked out using a drift.

Instillation of the new front sight is done with a very low profile bolt screwed into the sight from inside the slide.

#3&#4, they glow because of a gas that is in them. They do not need to be switched on or off.

I just ordered a set of nitesiters for my Sigma. I will be keeping it bedside along w/ my insight taclight... i'll post pics up after i install them...
