So many posts but no reports as to how they shoot in the dark! My range just will not turn the lights off for me. I have an M-4, Kimber CDP, and my Shield equipped with them. Time to head to the desert (10 mins. away) and check them out. Can anyone report results?

Î just took Defensive Handgun at the Firearms Academy of Seattle last weekend where we did some low-light/no-light shooting. Rear night sights aren't worth the money. They slow you down more than anything and lining up three dots will usually put you off in the vertical plane, usually low. Straight eights are better, but knowing where your gun points naturally is fastest. A front night sight helps, but if your pistol naturally points low in your hand, you'll spend time trying to find it when you could be shooting instinctively if you're close enough for point shooting.
