I am thinking about having my nightsights replaced or repaired..
My newly aquired 3913NL has very dim nightsights
They are marked MH3 = Meprolite/Tru-Dot
I have contacted both Trijicon & Meprolite to see what they have to say..
Had a SIG P220ST that had the brightest nightsights I ever seen & they were Tru-Dot..
What do you out there recomend??
May have the factory sights repaired by Kimber which is Meprolites retailer in the Good Ole USA

See if they can put in a green front and yellow rear dots - this is very easy to see and eliminates incorrect dot alignment when you are in a hurry. Of course, it would be even easier to just send it to me so it can keep my NL company...

Both Trijicon & Meprolite offer the option of Yellow & Orange Rear site colors..
I prefer all Green myself & Meprolite states there's are 20% brighter than the competition & that there front sight is intentionaly brighter to draw your eye to the front sight..
Also MH3 marked on the originals are Old Meprolites..
I'm contenplating buying a new set of sights & installing them myself, Done this with several Glocks, with a padded vise & a Brass drift..
I know there's two springs & plungers beneath the rear sight on the 3rd Gen Pistols..
Thanks
Gary

My 60 y/o eyes prefer the Mepros. Having had Trijicon and Meprolights, as well as MMC sights on my Sigs I think that the Mepros are the brightest, by far. They are also a bigger diameter "dot" (I believe that both the night sight element and the surrounding white ring are bigger) that makes them easier to acquire day and night.

If you opt to buy new ones, check out:

www.topgunsupply.com

They have some of the best prices on Mepros that I've found and their shipping is usually pretty fast -- excpet maybe right now when everyone in the gun biz is overloaded.

I install new sights everyday and I have to say I prefer Meprolights the quaility of Trijicons housings seems to have gone down to me at least

Both of my 4006's had Trijicon's that were almost nonexistant. I sent them to Trijicon and they re-lamped them for $54.00 ea. and gave me a new warranty period as well!
I sent them the entire slide instead of trying to remove the sights from the slide. Well worth it to me!

Thanks!!
I have measured my sights & had Tom @ TopGun measure a set of Meprolights & they are the same exact height..
Makes that $69.95 price look pretty good to me..

Greetings all,
Night sight brightness is a funny thing. All the company's say they have the brightest sights. I've seen so many comments from different forums saying one company's sights were brighter than another.
Personally, I just picked up a pair of Mepro's all green night sights for my P2000 and I was a bit dissapointed. For one, the front sight is no brighter than the rear sights and actually seems a bit smaller and slightly dimmer. The white rings on the rear sight were sloppily done. They have some blotchey smears and there is a black dent in the left ring. While not a huge deal, the bodies of the sights especially the rear one had lots of minor scratches on them. The price is great but it doesn't seem like the quality is 100%. I thought about returning them but didn't want to wait for a new pair so I had them installed. I'll probably send them an email to let them know.
I've had a set of P-T night sights, XS 24/7 standard dot, and now Mepro's. My P-T sights are about 2 years old and are just as bright as the Mepro's and actually look a tad brighter. I sold my Beretta with the XS sights, but if I remember correctly those were the brightest of them all.
Take care
