Hello.... New member. Brand new, perfectly stock Sport. Been doing some reading and decided to get the P-233 3-9x40 (Amazon $159.95) and then I also ordered the M-233 mount ($62.28).

Now I realize this is the one piece mount actually designed for the M-233 scopes, and that the P-233 mount(s) is actually two pieces.

Will the M-233 mount work? Not mount far enough forward? ie not enough eye relief?

Should I send it back for the two piece P-233?

This is my first black rifle, second direct gas gun. I have a Swedish Ljungman, no fun to shoot, you get a face full of gas on each round. Shot two rounds called it a day, cleaned it and haven't fired it since.

Thanks for any insight.

The mounts will work with either scope. Both the P-223 and M223 have a 1" body. The only practical difference is that the M-223 has a side focus knob. I have one of each, and both are clear, sharp and bright - excellent scopes. I have the P on a .22 rifle for my grandson, and the M on an AR carbine.

Thanks jr5104 for the pic. Makes me feel better about the situation. I have read that the front sight, while in the way, is all but invisible in the scope, so I'm not worried about that.

When ordering, it just made sense to me that the one piece mount would be less prone to alignment and other issues than two individual pieces.

Well, after 11 days, Amazon finally got my order to me. They purposely stall on the "free shipping over $50" trying to get people to join the Amazon Prime.

In any case, I removed the rear sight (using the proper tool) and installed the M-233 mount and P-233 scope. Spent 45 minutes or so to tweak the position of the mount and scope in the mount to give the proper eye relief/view. Will have to try it out first chance I get.

Also got a Butler Creek/Lula loader and some PSA/D&H aluminum mags. Loader works slick.
