I recently got a great deal on a new 442 PC. Great little gun! I put a set of Hogue G10 grips on it and put about 300 rounds thru it. Shoots very well and the trigger is very smooth. I decided to install a XS Sight on the front. I left a partial ramp on the bbl, with a taper cut mated to the sight angle to help the transition, a little different from the installation instructions, but I like how it looks. I hope to fire it soon with the new sight, so I can carry it off duty. It points well and that front dot sure shows up well. What do you guys think of this set up?

I like it. My biggest problem with the big dot is that it is hard to tell how far you are above or below the line of the rear sights, but I am guessing your solution helps take a lot of the guesswork out.

I've been thinking about doing this to my 638. Looks good

Squarepizza, XS makes two size dots, this is smaller dot, the instructions say the center of the dot is where top of orig blade is. I will report back after shooting this set up

Armorer951, most of the sight blade is milled away, leaving a specified stub. The sight blade has a slot milled out of bottom, you then epoxy the sight to the stub and base, using slow set JB-Weld.The instructions(on line at XS Sights web site) says to mill the blade off except for the stub, I mated the remaining blade to the angle of the sight face.
I fired 20 rounds at 25 yrds to check alignment, and as long as I aligned the center of dot with the frame groove, all shots hit center of the 9 ring on a B27 target (some X's). This was rested, with me 'staging' the DOA trigger. Moving in to 17 yrds, off hand with a normal DOA trigger squeeze, all rounds went into the 9 ring, but I dropped some low as I reverted back to leveling the sights. Just need to remember the correct (for these) sight picture. Very happy with this set up.

like it, also like your Hogues as well. Let us know how it shoots POA & POI.
