No .357 Snub Middle Ground?

Gentlemen,

I may be missing or forgetting a model here, but why is it that there is not an aluminum framed .357 clone to the model 640-1? There's the heavier steel 640, then the too light 340. No in between...

How come?

I really don't think an aluminum framed .357 would add enough weight over the titanium frames to make much difference.
 
The Scandium alloy of the 340 is an aluminum alloy.

There's the M&P340. It has a stainless steel cylinder instead of a titanium one like the 340PD. It weighs a whole 1.9 oz more too.

The MSRP of the M&P is less than the 340PD, but more than the 640.
