No model number - 5 digit serial # J frm

I think I have a circa mid 50's J Frame...
Larger trigger guard, flat latch, in .38 Sp., w/ only a serial #
Just a 5 digit serial #: 9216X

Could someone perhaps look this up and give me
a date of manufacture ?

Yours likely shipped in 1956-57. It is in the 1956 manufacturing SN range.

Welcome! Is the serial number quoted from the bottom of the grip frame? Does it have an upper sideplate screw? Here is a good reference for ID information:
