Well that didnt last Long.... Firing pin is Busted... it was still working but tip was kinda Stuck sticking out.. once i pulled the roll pin and the Firing pin came out... uhh seemed a BIT short

So email sent to S&W and will also call Tomorrow.....

So no SLidefire RETARDATION tomorrow

This is why I have an extra firing pin and ejector.

Funny thing is.... i actually JINXED Myself....:p

tried 2x to call S&W, on hold till my patience ran out, Just ta get an xtra pin and spring, was like 2 weeks ago..

Go Figure huh....

LOL...

Guess ill be saving all those .22 rounds for a bit onger now eh

Well looks like S&W wants to look at my baby....

So a little freshening up is in store for her

I assume it has ta do with some issues they have had with the old vs new Firing Pin

All good, great service for sure.... so when my Fedex label arrives.... Rock and ROLL!!!

So it makes me wonder if the Slidefire puts too much stress on the 15-22? Is there any other know issues of such damage from Slidefire users?

If you think about it, our ARs are mostly designed for rapid fire, even full auto. They are built to the same specs as their full auto cousins in the military. The 15-22 however is not? It is a plastic plinker designed to mimic the real thing. So is this rapid fire on the 15-22 asking too much from the design of the gun? Could it void the warranty?

I doubt the warranty would be voided, but I also doubt the 15-22 is designed to last very long under what is essentially sustained full-auto fire. Not even the military is dumb enough to do 25-round full auto mag dumps on a sustained basis with all metal M4s, even if they weren't limited to 3-round bursts. :)

I doubt the warranty would be voided,

Probably not as S&W is noted for taking care of their customers. Easy to be generous when all your product is in such demand. :D

However, a "normal" manufacturer would void the warranty of a product that was not being used as designed or intended. For example, a power tool designed for occasional personal use is not warrantied to work in a commercial setting, where it is used all day, every day. The two products are designed differently and correspondingly cost differently even though they both perform the same task.

Ah yes SlideFire, so cool but such a waste of weapon reliability and .22LR ammo.

Keep a backup firing pin and extractor on hand at all times.

Havent used the slidefire in months Kids:p

I personally think its the issue with the firing pin... since they changed it to a snubbyer Pin..... he said they wanted to see why it broke.... which makes sense to me

i could have paid for a new pin... but figured why not let them look at it and freshen her up......

i have a LOT of rounds in it..... so not that concerned about it really

And yes... when she comes back ill be ordering a backup pin:D

So can you send in the gun for warranty work with 3rd party parts on it, or do you have to reinstall the OEM parts? I have a CMC trigger & curious what to do if I ever send mine back in.

i asked about my Timney trigger... he said leave it on....

ill take off all my optics and stuff like that.... sling etc... and should be dialed

They will remove your aftermarket parts, and you may not get them back. Furthermore, they may or may not honor the warranty if you send it in with aftermarket parts.

Their official stance is that it will be returned to stock configuration and then returned to you. So keep your parts.

I'd get that in writing ... :)

It's contrary to what many others have been told.

Email even says remove any parts that dont need fixed.... So Pulled trigger, Optics, Handgrip... Put stock stuff in Plastic bags to ship with Gun... Not sending my stock trigger... if they need to test it they can put one in im sure:)
