Non-Ethanol Gasoline

We subsidize the ethanol industry and they changed the valves and timing on newer engines to accommodate ethanol. This all resulted in vehicles dropping 5 to 8 miles per gallon over a ~3 year period. My 83 F250 4X4 got 23-25mpg off the showroom floor. I haven't checked this year's models but I'd bet 7-5mpg less than that.

The only corn squeezins go in my truck when I have a long trip planned and expect to burn it right up. Otherwise I run non ethanol in all my yard stuff (2 and 4 stroke) as well as the 5.7L Toyota. Lots of stop and go around town, I get better mileage (16+) and I just trust it a bit more.

Use non ethanol in Pontoon. Boat guy would give me hell if anything else is used. Get it from Road Ranger in town.

I only use non ethanol gasoline. Since I have multiple cars, and generally only drive them on my days off, it can take months to go through a tank of gas on a given car. The non ethanol gas costs more, but it doesn’t harm the cars and gives better mileage and performance. I also use the non ethanol gas in my mowers and generator.

Ethanol gas is another dumb idea foisted on us by lobbyists and the government. It drove up corn prices, and therefore food prices, while delivering lower performance fuel.

I only run non-Ethanol gas in our cars, it costs more but it gets better mpg. I don’t know if it’s cost effective, I don’t care enough to do the math. Only place I refuel our cars is CFN. (Our truck is diesel so I refuel at CFN or Pilot/Flying J when on the road.)

I use ethanol free in all my lawn and garden stuff, four stroke and two strokes. And I go through quite a bit. Just filled four of my 5 gallon cans today, plus my girlfriends 5 gallon can. My Deere lawn tractor is 33 years old, and my Deere commercial ZTR is 21 years old. Knock on wood neither have ever needed carb or fuel related service.

I have never purchased ethanol free (unleaded) fuel for my trucks or push mowers or riding mowers.
I have several friends that use the regular unleaded fuel in their mowers and yard equipment.
It’s probably 15 miles or so to the nearest gas pumps that are ethanol free.
I treat my fuel with Seafoam additive and it has worked well for me in the small engines and I have kept fuel from one season to the next with no varnishing or gumming up of the fuel. I keep a 12 bottle case of Seafoam most of the time. It is a fuel additive that actually works.
My trucks don’t have a problem with available fuels with 10–15% ethanol because they are driven a lot.
There are lots of opinions on this subject and many different situations and I believe in sticking with what works best for you.

Not many non-ethanol gas places in the Vegas Valley, and some spare kidneys would be an advantage when it comes to paying for it.

25 cents premium per gal to alcohol is a bargain. I sometimes see it a buck more.

Other than having any small engines that are seldom used, I no longer have a need for "conventional" gasoline.

I use E10 in EVERYTHING. That includes mowers, cars and even a 45 year old classic car and a 63 year old boat.

We were getting E10 for a couple of years before we even knew about it. Then they put the stickers on the pumps.

E0 gives higher mileage, but the cost increase wipes out any savings.

I always had issues with gas weedwackers and chain saws, even before E10. Constant carb problems even though I drained them off season. Now all my other lawn equipment is electric. Problem solved.

IMHO, use Stabil in gas that sits along time, and just take care of your stuff. A neighbor leaves his lawn tractor outside all the time and he forever complains about "that bad ethanol".

I run any gas I can get for most of the year. For the final fill up before winter I use non-ethanol in my small engines. FWIW: I've never had a problem with either.

Nothing but non ethanol gas in all small engines. For the lawn tractor I add 4/10 of an ounce of Mystery Oil, per gallon, with it. Same with the snow blower.
