Can anyone confirm for me -- or direct me to an authoritative source -- that my Maine CCW permit is honored in Delaware?

I have checked the usual sites (handgunlaw.us and usacarry.com) and it appears that in early 2012 reciprocity may have been established between the two states. At least the maps and tables on these sites indicate that this is so.

Frankly, since this is Joe Biden's home state, and since DE is a "may issue" state, it seems too good to be true.

While I realize that everything that appears on the internet is absolutely true, is there a Delaware state agency with which I can confirm this?

Thanks in advance for any info.

It is reciprocal. What you didn't say is whether you are visiting ME or moving there. Many states have visiting reciprocity but if you move (change your legal residence) that permit is no longer valid and you must obtain a local permit. The only definitive source is the state you are inquiring about. Ask them.

Murdock, On the DE page at Handgunlaw.us in the right column at the top of that page is a direct link to the Delaware AG's official page and the states they have reciprocity with.

The link came right up, and I was able to read the full text of applicable laws. I'm good to go.

I am impressed that so any states have been willing to establish reciprocity with one another over the past few years. I hope the trend of reason continues.

Thanks again for the link! I'm a happy camper.
