I sort of hate to post this as I am a long time, died in the wool S&W guy. I have carried and often carry my M-13...the best self defense revolver ever made. And, I carry several M&P Semis from .45ACP to the .380 Bodyguard. Being bored today, I dug down in my safe and found what I call my Redneck CCO. A Colt 1911 compact frame with a Colt Commander slide. Took it down to my range, still stingy with my ammo, but one 7 round mag at 25 yards, between timed and rapid fire. It will be back in my carry rotation. Stay safe out there.

I have many Smith revolvers and a couple of autos. As much as I love the 3" K frame I don't carry one anymore.

I still have a 4506 just because I really like shooting it and it is a tank. I have a 5906 TSW strategically placed at home.

Most of the revolvers I have are old ones I picked up over the years in little back woods shops across the state. Most are boxed. I am beginning to sell most of those off.

My EDCs lately are a couple of 1911s, Browning HP, P365, and an HK. Now that I can carry what I want I don't pick up a Glock much any more. I guess it was just forced on me too long :-). Got nothing against them. Just too many others I prefer.

Baretta Tomcat, Baretta .25, NAA 22mag, and newly arrived Sig 365. There's a time n place for each. But that Sig is so concealable it will probably be carried 90% of the time.

My non-S&W EDC is a Ruger LCP. Granted that it's pretty much always a backup to a S&W when I'm out and about, but when I'm at home, my LCP is always with me.

Anyone looking for an EDC should give the S&W 340PD a try. It is very easy to carry with revolver accuracy and reliability. Very easy to carry all day. Just saying.

I carry one gun, exclusively. No rotation. That's why it's called an "Every Day Carry".
My EDC has been a Glock 23 for many years. Then I down sized to an S&W 9mm Shield. I put Truglo TRX Pro sights on it, which helped my 73 year old eyesight quite a lot. Alas, open sights have become a chore for me anymore.
So, now my EDC is a Springfield Armory Hellcat with a Wasp Red Dot sight.
13+1 9mm rounds, plus a 15 round spare. Disappears under a t shirt. The red dot makes a HUGE difference for me. I shoot this gun very well. I just completed my annual LEOSA qualification.
This will be my last (and best) EDC.

I carry a Ruger EC9s 9mm every time I leave the house. Going to the store, taking the trash down to the road, cutting grass, EVERYWHERE. I have an extra mag filled with hollowpoints AND another mag dilled with Speer shotshells. Amazingly, this little Ruger will feed the shotshells.

My only "non-S&W" EDC is a Kimber Ultra Carry (Series I).

While I am heavily invested in .38Spl, .357 and .45ACP and never feel under-gunned with 5, 6 or 7+1 rounds, I am giving serious consideration to the Sig P365.

But the thought of starting from scratch with a new caliber is giving me some pause. Not sure if I'm just itching to follow the current trend - my youngest revolver is 30 years old - or if there is some valid reason to add the P365 to my small accumulation. It appears to be a fine handgun, but I'm struggling with the "need".

Main summer carry is an officer size 1911. Last winter started pocket carrying a G19 (overalls with modified pocket). Will try G23 this fall/winter. Had a good selection of S&W revolvers, but rarely cc them.

My only non-Smith is a Walther PPS40. To be honest, it gets very little carry time because I favor my S&W model 3953 or 4053 for EDC.

That said, the PPS40 has been with me longer than the others.

Of course I have some firearms that aren't S & W.

Sig 238 .380 for pocket carry.
Sig C3 1911 .45 OWB with a jacket or second shirt.

Nothing wrong with a 1911. In cooler weather I will carry my Ruger SR1911 commander at times.

Good looking 1911!

My EDC 90% of the time since 1990 is some form of a 3rd Gen 39xx gun. 3913 with full hammer ,3913NL or 3914 in cooler weather.... all with checkered wood grips

Winter .45 needs are filled by a Sig 220 or 245 Compact. Since 1988/94

Woods carry for me means a S&W revolver; generally a 3" 66 but sometimes a 4" round butt 686 or a 3" 60-10. Since the 1980s.

For years it's been a j frame, but I recently started to switch over to a Sig P365. When I can pack something bigger, it's one of my Glocks.

Muley, I hope one of those shot shells doesn't come apart under recoil or you'll have a pistol jammed up like you've never had one jammed up.
That happened to a friend a few years ago and he had to completely tear the pistol down to get all that #9 shot out of everywhere.
I would only carry one in the chamber myself.
