Non S&W EDC

Asked to check it out, and as soon as I held it, it felt like it was made for me. Got 2 new guns that day. I can't see anything ever replacing the Sig as my EDC.

Remember "3 is 2, 2 is 1 and 1 is none" 🤔 which means another trip to the LGS so you can have one gun. 😎

I see a lot of people here (and other post) like the Kahr CM9. Has anyone ever compared one side by side with the P365. I've never handled the Kahr. But it seems people who have them love them.

I have both. I bought the Kahr when I decided I wanted a small 9mm. I bought the 365 about 2 weeks later, so the Kahr never got past the function testing.

Kahr is a little slimmer, but they're about the same size, with the SIG packing 4 extra rounds the way I carry it.

The triggers are very different. I actually like Kahr triggers, but it was SIG for the win after I shot it the first time.

I'd like to find a reasonably-priced Kahr P380 to replace my Kel-Tec.

Pete I'm glad u said 365 won. I didn't realize how small the Kahr was. Till AFTER I bought my 365. Then I thought uh oh, did I miss out? I wanted a small accurate EDC 9mm with good sights. I do feel good about the extra rounds. And love the Sig trigger.

It much depends on where I am going. I am fortunate that I own many choices for both HD and concealed carry. I generally carry my gen-1 shield with an extra mag or an M&P 340 when on the property or a quick outing. For extended outings, I generally take something with more capacity. I own a Glock 45,an M&P 9mm compact and several other semi auto and revolver choices for camping, hiking and the like. I am however gravitating toward a bit larger guns for more capacity, longer sight radius etc.
I think of more than one assailant, Misses and the possible need to reload. I find that I shoot the slightly larger guns better and I can shoot almost everything pretty decently. I have stated this in the past but I am not a fan of mouse guns for a number of reasons. Many think that having something is better than nothing and that is true to an extent but what if you really need it insead of thinking that you will never have to use it. I read lots of comments on here about just having something is enough and I will never have to use it anyway. I don't think we all have to carry 17rds with and light and laser with multiple reloads to run to the store but I do think that some should rethink the minimalist approach especially with todays environment, then practice a lot with what you decide on carrying.

Non-S&W? Depends on my mood and the season/attire …

CZ 75D Compact PCR (9mm)
Colt King Cobra (.357 mag)
Colt Cobra (.38+p)
Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry II (.45ACP)

Sig 365 for the belt but a Ruger Second Gen LCP .380 in the pocket is what I carry most of the time. In the woods I like my Browning HP or Stainless Ruger Security Six .357. If longer shots are needed I like my Sig 365 XL with Holosun Red dot. If I can rest it against a tree I can shoot it almost as accurately as a rifle offhand with open sights.

Easy to understand if you think of change in weather and change in wardrobe. A lot of people don't live in a region that stays above 65 degrees all year long...'summer carry' and 'winter carry' choices vary for many.

Do you want to discuss the weather in Kansas of all places? Last week the high temperature was 102 with 102 forecasted for this coming Sunday and Monday. The highest temperature for this time was 110 in 1939.

Last winter the temperatures got down to zero with -35 wind chill factor.

Statistics show that violent crime increases in hot summer months. In the winter crime decreases and moves indoors. Yet despite the increase of odds of being a victim of violent crime in the summer it seems a lot of folks choose to carry a smaller, weaker caliber handgun.

"Pocket carry" is the rage on some discussion forums. All I can say is their pockets are a lot bigger than mine and to say nothing of the tactic of reaching into the front pocket when being confronted or attacked. In other words folks put convenience or more correctly ignore the inconvenience of carrying a serious caliber and size handgun for so-called comfort when a proper holster and change in attire will make a big difference.

Anyway you pay your money and take your chances.

Hit them hard,
Knock them down.
One punch.
One swing.
One drop of the hammer.

Not practical to carry my the Louisville Slugger so these work. :D

LCP and a stainless S&Walther PPKs/380 carried as well.

Knuckles confiscated from a teenager decades ago.

For staggering around in the undersea world of summer in Virginia, I have found nothing beats a SIG P938. Like the knife in the photo, this SIG has a "distressed" finish - some variation sold at Bass Pro / Cabellas, and is not corroding. They called this the "Campaign" model and I can't imagine it was very popular. Very dependable little pistol and accurate for such a caliber in such a small package.

Some version of a GLOCK pistol for me. Depending on what I'm doing it could range from A GLOCK 20 in 10mm to a G-48 MOS!

I don't rotate my carry, that's what you do to tires every 5-7000 miles. In a stressful situation your brain won't be able to tell you if the carry that that is an owb 1911, or a pocket carry snubby…. Backup mag in a pouch, sppedstrip or speed loader in a pocket! That's just what happens in a situation that requires a potential use of deadly force.

AND just about every carry piece now has an optic on it.

Regards, Rick Gibbs

Psssh.

Stress or not, if someone can't tell the difference between (read: know how to properly use) a 1911 and a snubby in their hand maybe they shouldn't be carrying in the first place.

As long as you practice with anything you're going to carry, it's all good.
