Non threaded barrel end converter

Anyone has this barrel end converter? I want to put a flash end or birdcage,but i'm not gonna pay $100 to thread my barrel. Found it on taticool22 for $30.

I like my barrel shroud but before I got one I had a flash hider made for the non threaded barrels. Check out True shot technologies. They make a flash that has set screws to hold it on. Fits really tight and never came loose

Yes. And it's a tight fit on the barrel, as it should be. In combination with whatever you want to put on it, it is far superior to the flash hider that is sold by another company.

File a small flat on the bottom of the barrel for the set screw to bite into and put BLUE LocTite on the screw and the barrel and it will never accidentally come off.

I wouldn't trust a converter to mount a suppressor. Just get the barrel threaded by a competent gunsmith or machinist for around $100. Make sure the the threads are concentric to the bore. A baffle strike or end cap strike is likely going to cost more to fix than the difference between getting the barrel threaded and the end converter.

That being said, for a muzzle brake or flash hider it should work great, and Tacticool22 is top notch.
 
Majorlk, that brake looks awesome.
The other company has only one style of flash hider, it's not a muzzle brake. And the set screws are tiny and stick out a dit. Not to slam them, just my observation.
My adapters concentricity runs within .002 TIR which is better than any suppressor I have seen. The biggest factor is if the bore is in the center of the barrel. Many people have used a suppressor on my adapter with no problem at all, and a couple could not.
 
This is interesting, and maybe this goes to the question regarding the suppressor.

I've always heard that a threaded barrel had to be threaded concentric with the BORE in order to align right for use with suppressors and other "bore fit" exit add-ons. That being the case, one would have to assume (ah-hem!) that this add-on threaded adapter would not be guaranteed to work properly with things like suppressors that must be, more or less, perfectly aligned.

Is my logic flawed?

I have seen a couple of the other company's product at my local range - not worth the money, IMHO.

The TS brake I have does make a noticeable difference. I think that comes from the fact it's actually designed for pistol use. I will admit it's a dog to clean if you let it go more than a thousand rounds, or so.

To keep legal here, I used J-B Weld to mate the brake with your adaptor, so the two cannot be separated, leaving me with an illegal exposed threaded barrel. I filed a small grove in the bottom of the barrel for the set screw so the adaptor can't slide forward, even if loose. BLUE LocTite on the screw and a bead on the barrel has made for a solid installation.
