They really do exist...in spite of biologist telling us that a black phase of the mountain lion cannot happen. Here is actual photos, taken out west, of a real confirmed black panther attacking a mule deer doe. These are the only known confirmed photos of a North American Black Panther!!!!

The photographer said the cat struck the deer down so fast he didn't have time to catch the actual kill...then, when the cat turned his way and "screamed like a woman" at him...he peed down both legs and ran!!!!

They are actually huge deer...and they didn't panic because they knew it wouldn't do them any good!!! Frozen with fear, the guy taking the pictures was unable to function long enough to snap more. We are lucky he was able to take what he did and not seize up with a coronary!!!

Looks like an American Shorthair.

That's either.....

That's either a very large cat or a very small panther.:)

That's almost as tantalizing as the hunt for the Ivory Billed Woodpecker. People have blurry photographs that seem to match their pattern, but nothing is confirmed. Somebody will probably need to shoot one to prove it.:D

Speaking of cats, a friend was hunting and stalking something(?) and apparently a bobcat had the same idea and they confronted each other. The cat hiss, growled, yelled and whatever else they do and he shot his gun and took off. After a while he didn't hear anything so he went back and it was dead so he took a picture. VERY large bobcat.

Just ask Uncle Si, he sees them all the time. Wife had one for 12 years that would terrorize my older sister everytime she came to the house. Black persian strain of panther.:) It was hilarious.

What kind of gun was the cat totin'?:D

So that cat dragged off the deer?

My former cat, who I had for 15 years, used to sit in the screened-in porch and growl at the deer that came into the yard. Not sure what she would have done if she had free run of the yard - probably go up and sniff the deer like that cat did. No deer for two years now - the coyotes wiped them all out.
