The governor of North Carolina declared a state of emergency in anticipation of Hurricane Earl. Specifically included in the decree was the suspension of CCW rights for gun-owners. Why do ALL states not invoke laws to prevent just this sort of thing from happening? How in the world is the Police Department going to protect you in times such as these? We all saw how well things went in New Orleans during Katrina.

I have been involved in Emergency Services for a number of years and I know that it will not be those that hold CCW's that cause the problems. Why cannot legislators and governors see that themselves? I scratch my head in wonder........

I think it's stupid, but just because they're declaring an emergency doesn't mean they're declaring martial law. They won't be stopping people and patting them down. I would still carry concealed (not advising anyone to do that though). I would just not walk around with an AR.
