Thought I'd run these by the folks here…

Black washer Target N frame stocks with "football" cutout... diamond screw escutcheons.

They look nice but not "cokes".

Any idea of what time frame they were used?

Thanks

Thanks, I was pretty sure they were standard trarget stocks.

Here's a close up of the left side top.. do you mean the football cutout? Doesn't look repaired in person.. maybe just the lighting.

Any idea of when this black washer style was used?

Thanks

Approximately 1955 to 1968. I think silver washers were used after these went out of production.

Although I never............

have seen them, owned them and may not, I am always looking.

One way to remind myself is the checkering, the top is a "smile" in comparison and the overall pattern is taller & wider.

Tall Wide Smile! :D

Those look like Walnut to me. Wood experts, would like your opinion!

44 magnum with S/N i can't find a record of??

I recently picked up an early 44 mag and it's not listed in one of the books I bought (Early 44 Magnum Information) by the S&W Historical Foundation.

I was wondering how common it is to NOT have a number listed?

Thanks all!

Is this a pre model 29? If so the serial number will tell you everything you need to know. Is it a 5 screw or 4 screw? Or is it a early model 29?
