If not for a pre war K22, what is this steel rod for? Thanks, Big Larry

Take your pick, 4" .32, 38, 44. Its kind of a universal cleaning rod. Not sure that it won't work equally well on a .22.

Larry,

Truth be told, sure looks like a 6" to me, but just in case the photo's deceiving me, here are the Overall Lengths for both 4" & 6" Rods!!

If the OAL...measured from the Top of the Loop to the Threaded End...is approx. 7 1/2" it's for Very Early Post-War Revolvers with 6" Barrels & if it measures approx. 5 1/2" it's for Very Early Post-War Revolvers with 2" & 4" Barrels!!

I've also heard tell these "May" have been included just prior to...or during WWII, but as I've never owned...or observed...a Revolver shipped in that time period with a "Known" Original Cleaning Kit I'm not going to state that's a fact one way or the other!! Maybe someone else here can help with that...just in case it is true!! Hope this helps!!

Hi Larry:

I think you will find that the steel rod was a feature of the post-war Target sighted guns. I have a couple that came with boxed Masterpieces that I believe are complete and original packages. In my experience these rods are pretty scarce, so they must not have been provided by the factory for very long.

Hi Larry, I think ordnanceguy is correct. About two years ago I sold you an un numbered gold K38 box, black screwdriver and a black cleaning rod. I think the box, screwdriver and rod came with an early post war K38. ---silvertip43
