NOT HAPPY WITH LARRY!

I've spent so much money with Midway that Larry sends me greetings on ALL holidays! :D

I like Midway...I've learned to put out of stock items in my wish list and not my cart when I order. So far, since I started doing that, I haven't had to pay a separate shipping charge until I actually order it. I've had better satisfaction with Midway than any other online retailer. I've also found that they make it incredibly easy to return stuff if needed.

Sorry some of you have had some bad experiences...

This is what I do. I also use the notify me option to receive an e-mail when the item is in stock. On fast moving items, it may be sold out before I get the e-mail but that is life.

"Nox Nix. Makes no difference"

That's Macht nichts.

Lobo: You're doing a lot of supposing and guessing to make a conclusion that's not founded. It may all be likely (and even probable) but you're still just guessin'

Been a regular Midway customer for many years. Great company. Remember, while other Net retailers had quadrupled their prices during the panic on mags, ammo and very thing else, Midway held their prices at prepanic levels and honored backorder prices. Class act.

From what I am seeing, Midway is canceling a lot of backorders. Anyone who knows where they can buy cases of in stock .22lr ammo at decent prices like Midway has been offering would have done so and cancelled their Midway order in a heartbeat. It's slim pickins out there...

not only is it slim pickins and frustrating on every level in the supply chain .. seems that folks are giving in to cabin fever on the issue.

somewhere near the bottom line is the fact that Midway, as well as others are getting beat up over things largely out of their control.
Inventory rotates out so fast, the website has fits keeping up with it.
They are a major player in our field of interest. If we cannibalize them like this long enough, we risk them closing their doors, leaving us all trying to source things

USPS FLAT RATE BOXES

Got my letter from him yesterday about NOT shipping ammo to NY. my next email was a notice that the bullets that I ordered yesterday were shipped, 500 rounds, just the bullets. Good so far right? The freight on 500 bullets was 20 dollars. Again that's just 500 bullets, 200 grain, 45acp. 14 pounds roughly. seems expensive to me..

That order is perfect for the USPS FLAT RATE boxes.
I sold some cast bullets a few years ago. LOVED shipping fifty pound box for about $10 - don't remember the exact rate at that time.

Midway has a computer that is very good at figuring out just how much stuff can be fit in a box. Why can it not also figure out most economical shipping method.

Just recently attempted to order a media separator at $29.95. They wanted $36 to ship it to PA. No thank you Larry.

I live about 30 miles from Midway...Never shopped there..Here locally you hear both opinions about Good Old Larry, some think he is great some think he is a snob......He sure has been successful, or so it seems. I go to one of my local gun stores, I know they need the business.....As to 22lr or for that matter any 22 ammo seems to be like the Holy Grail. When it does come in, it is gone in a couple of hours...Some shops on the rare occasion they get 22 restrict sales to two boxes......Who would have thunk it a few years back...9mm is getting tight again...You think there just might be some hording going on??? At 75 I don't hoard anything anymore....

Apology to my fellow shooters

They broke me....

After a solid year of no shooting (well, a hundred of 5.56, and a hundred of .22) I caved in, to high prices.

I've held out, because of the principle that if we continue to buy at these prices, prices will not drop even after supplies ease.

But, I can afford it, thank The Lord, and I can't take it anymore.

In the last two weeks I bought 2K of 5.56, and 3K of .22, and components to fill up the 2500 empties of .40 and .45

I'm going shooting dammit.
Tuesday night steel here I come!
High power rifle here I come!
22 tactical here I come!

If you need to reach me leave a message, I'll be at Rio Salado....

Though i have not ordered ammo from Midway, everything else I ordered came with AWESOME service and to me, that is worth the little extra $$$ it costs.
Sounds like some of you are taking all your frustrations out on one guy when in fact, it may NOT be his fault. I am sure all of us know that .22 ammo is in short supply, for everyone, not just Midway.

So I say, quit expecting perfection and cut Larry some slack.

P.S. If the shipping charges are to much, buy local, and remember, business doesn't stay open without profit. Yea, I know, profit is one of those dirty words now days but "that's the way it is".

Right. Folks are just frustrated about .22LR.

There's a reason they had that order with Midway in the first place... because they could't find it in stock or cheaper anywhere else.

I can only imagine how many thousands of idiots have been calling Midway every day pestering them about when their .22LR order will be in. If I was Larry, I'd cancel it all and send em a link to BoTach and CTD. :D

According to the USPS website, they charge $23.91 to mail a 14lb package. UPS and FedEX would probably be higher.

What would you suggest as a less expensive shipping method?
