Not sure how Gander Mt. stays in business ...

I was in G/M in Burnsville Mn over Christmas and found a great deal there. Some ungrateful grandson had just traded his grandfather collection of Marlin 39a's on snow gear. I bought 3 Marlin Mounties for 250.00 each and 2 pistol grip 39a's and one
Marlin 39a take down for 275.00. All were excellent to mint.

To me,that qualifies as SIX great deals! Lucky you.

The local GM is located in the high rent district. Very often that clientele won't shop around and wind up paying high prices for stuff. I look for close-out stuff. In December 2012 the local store hosted a sale on a lot of those over priced guns. The inventory, and some of the salespeople, came from all over the country. They knocked the bottom out of the prices and many good deals were found. They haven't had a sale like this since. I found several items priced well below their value and GM was also haggling on prices. One clerk brought out a box of about 20 police turn in Glock 22's for $249.00. They went fast.

I have had good luck with the used gun selection at the local GM.
Got my son a 12 gauge pump as his first shotgun for less than $100.
He got his first grouse with the gun.

Picked up a S&W M19 2.5 inch and an "Old Model" Ruger Blackhawk
.357/9mm Convertible at good prices.

They had Sure Fire flashlights on sale several years ago. I got a couple.
Also got some other stuff, including a nice spring jacket on sale.
Just before the ammo panic my wife got me a bunch of Federal plated
hollowpoint .22 ammo. Price was a lot better than it has been
since.

Worth stopping in when I'm passing through.

If there's justice grandson would be buried in his new gear under the avalanche cause by Grandpa spinning in his grave.

GM opened a store not far from where my son lives in Va, it closed in a few years.

I live in southeast Missouri and GM opened their first store in Missouri in a St Louis suburb. They have a good selection of things and they did have a few nice 3rd gen Smiths.

I went into that store at Gravois Bluffs a few weeks back. Of the guns that I knew what the LGSs price them at, GM was almost always $30 or so higher.

Maybe if I'm in the area, I'll stop in. But I won't go out of my way to visit that store.
