I normally can figure out value by auctions, armslist, etc... But I'm not sure on this one that's for sale by me.... It's a 686 no dash 6" silhouette in 90% condition. No original grips or box...
He's asking $850 obo....

I'm not sure how much the added value for the silhouette is???
I've seen them before but never on a no dash model

Thanks in advance....

In my view that's about $100 to $200 high. The silhouette guns are interesting, nice guns, but not particularly rare. At 90%, no box, and no original grips, means no serious collector interests. As a shooter I'd think more like $650 to $750. That allows about a $100 premium for the adjustable front sight.

Thanks Kernel

The last Blue Book I have puts a $35 premium on a 686 with a silhouette front sight. If it helps, I bought a no dash, M stamped 686 shilhouette off Gun Broker two years ago for $610. A 95% gun (one small scratch on the barrel) with box and target stocks. A 98% 586-3 silhouette with box and target stocks cost me $656 in a Gun Broker auction about the same time frame. I really like the sight picture with the adjustable front sight, but they don't seem to command a big premium...yet.

The asking price s not out of line based on auction starting prices and reserves I've seen, but they don't seem to move at that price. I'd only be a buyer at the Kernel's prices.
