Before you comment yes I am OCD. I like things to be symmetrical and even :)

Just purchased my shield and installed the Talon rubber grip tonight. Followed the directions to the T (so I thought). Lined up the circle on one side and followed it to the other side. One side lined up perfect but the other did not. If I would have lined both sides up there would have been creases around the front of the grip.

What do you guys think? The grip feels perfect and I'll probably just live with it. I already used a hair dryer on it.

Anybody else have this issue? All the pics I've seen on other guns look perfect.

,,,, mine wasn't a "factory" fit either but was as nice as I could get it, and looks great enough, I'm sure after hundreds of shots and wearing it, it will look worse and need replacing anyway ...

Mine fit perfect no problem at all. Looking at the way its over the logo, like its to long, wondering if you may have inadvertently stretched it a little when working it around the front. Don't really know. It would probably bug me a little too.

I didn't apply any pressure to it when pulling to the other side. Read to be careful of that on the instructions before I installed it. I love the feel of it though

I feel your pain. That would drive me nuts. I would be unable to sleep at night! I would try to convince myself the misalignment gives the gun character - but would fail. I'd probably buy a new gun...... LOL

Actually - you did a nice job.

Who would ever notice it, if you didn't point it out? It's on and it does what it is supposed to do, gives you a better grip. It's only a gun, some metal parts and polymer. As long as all functions good, forget about the little things and enjoy it. In a few years there will a lot of little imperfections, but it will still shoot.

Sorry, I had no problems with mine, the company is great, send them a picture and I bet they will send you another one for free.

Its ok, it was your first time. What happened was that when you applied the grip it twisted slightly on you thats all... what I did first for mine is to line up the circle for the M&P logo and then line up the bottom edge before pressing it down into place, and then wrap around towards the trigger and proceding to the other side, you may have to pull slightly up or pull down on the grip in order to get it to line up with the logo on the other side as the material is kinda flexible. I installed mine on my shield 9 and the fit & cut is perfect and I ordered one for my M&P 380 & just slapped it on this evening. Real happy with them both.

I have three shields, with talon on all. The only issue I had was the first was one of the first run and the backstrap section had to be trimmed a tiny bit to work. The others fit fine.

I do believe the instructions mention trimming the seam to avoid the over lap. I've had mine for over two yrs and still on like the day I installed um. Yes I trimmed the back strap seam.

What I did was I lined up the logo on one side, and then lined it up with the logo on the other side, and then pressed the rest down. After hitting it with the hair dryer, it was good to go.
