This is an unusual situation in Port Gibson about 2 miles down the road from me. The enclosed picture shows a small P.O. right next too a building that used to be a corner store. The former store is now occupied by a few families living there. There is a small walkway between the two buildings and parking all around them both. That's all I know, they were there long before I moved into the area. So the question is would the people that live in that house be able to carry concealed on the property? Assuming they had their CCW of course. Where would the cut-off be? That little walkway between the buildings? That is not my post office because mine is in the town of Palmyra not the town of Port Gibson. I should have brought it up in the old thread before it got shut down but I forgot about it. I don't know what to make of this situation.

That depends on a variety of factors. Who owns what property, and what the state laws are to begin with.

You haven't provided nearly enough information to reach a conclusion.

That's all I have. It's not a big deal I was just wondering if anyone would be able to come up with something.

My first question is, are you sure that it is a federal post office facility, and not a contract post office? It is often difficult to tell the difference. The "post office" that I use most often is a contract facility. It has all the usual USPS signage and logos. You have to be paying close attention to notice the small sign, way in the back, that says it is a contract post office. That means that the building is privately owned, and is NOT a "federal facility."

I'm not sure of anything, it's just a post office that looks federal. It's not mine so I don't go there for anything.

Sounds like a non-issue to me.

If you happen to ever go to this Post Office you never go to I would not take a firearm if you don't know.

The people that live there probably know if they care to.

It's not an issue, I just remember the old thread that has been closed for a little while. I didn't think of it then but remembered it when I drove past the P.O. the other day. The only place I take my firearm is to the range which is nowhere near that or any P.O. In fact I think I'll take the Ruger Deerfield over to the range this afternoon. It has been awhile.

Doesn't matter to anyone except the residents next door, and unless they go full stupid, any potential issue will never arise,
