Im new to the forum and have been finding it very insightful and a great way to measure up new products without wasting $. Rollin thru a graveyard shift here & got a chance to go thru alot of the picture threads for the 1522. Really cool stuff. But without steppin on toes or upsetting any of you short fuse people, I gotta ask, whats with all the backwards front sight on the 1522s. I went thru about 50 of the 80somethin pages & it seems close to half the rifles had the fronts on backwards. As I said Im new to the forum and the 1522, just a little tired & curious. And what is a mall ninja. Looking forward to all who can reply. Thanks

Not sure about the backwards sights. I did see one like this bnib at a store though and think that maybe some were just put on wrong at Smith. A mall ninja is that guy with a million billion accessories and tactics for scenarios they'll never be in and usually have no practical experience. You'll know them when you see them. ;)

Hiiiiiii Yaaaaaaaa!!!!! (That's my best Mall Ninja sound) :)

A Mall Ninja is actually someone who repeatedly talks about scenarios and how he or she has been in XX conflict and needed XX gear to to this or that, in an inconsequential role, like a Mall Security Guard.

Someone who has too many Tacti-Cool accessories is just a Rail Addict :)

I noticed a few reversed front irons as well, I suppose it might be a preferred look maybe? Can't think of how it would help your sight picture. Also, a mall ninja is a term for an over enthusiastic, inexperienced firearm owner who pretends to be a seasoned operator.

In example listen to some of the b.s. from this guy....

:eek:Oh man those vids were to much. I think he was serious right? I guess I'll never win a gun fight because I want to keep my sling. LOL:rolleyes:

WOW! So thats a mall ninja. These guys really believe they know whats goin on. How can you lie or make $#%@ up like that & not be embarassed for yourself, not even that but, (sorry Im laughin) think you could even fool a 7 yr old. One dude says "the 97% of people who wear body armor are fine, the other 8% are stupid," really, did he just say that, he must of missed that 1st grade class where they learn to add. On top of this jabronies lecture on body armor he pulls his out, what looks to be a type of karate shirt, must be that new Delta Spec Ops. Another guy, kid I should say claims to have been shooting for 20 yrs, then pulls his clear, air soft pistol with a bright orange front from a holster to demonstrate the technique he has had to use on, "skinnies." One last one, the fact that these guys are in fatigues or a shirt that says army that you can buy at walmart had me fooled. The kid claims to be "credible" b/c his shirt says army. Man he almost had me there for a second. LOFL! This is really worse than I could imagine. However, I found this to be disturbing as I did extremely entertaining. Thanks for the threads everybody, and I regret to say I look forward to laughing some more, so feel free to send me whatever else is out that, well, may enhance my survivability chances. These are truly distinguished.......

I put mine on backwards (before tossing in the parts box) cuz I liked the way it looked. Style dictates quite a bit of how I customize the 15-22. I bought the 15-22 cuz I thought it looked cool and had 4 foot of rail space to hang ornaments from. It's a toy for entertainment and hobby. My 15-22 Ken doll has many sporty outfits... some of which are below.

ps. I think quite a few folks here have a drop or two of Mall Ninja blood in em. ;)

The Mall Ninja must be prepared for any type of circumstance! :D

ya i think he removed the tacticandle;)

ROFLMAO!!!! Oh that was funny.. I had almost forgot about that thread.

For those of you who weren't around last year, things got a little heated about accessories... fake suppressors... and why folks put the stuff they do on their rifle... so... the "Tacticandle" was introduced. (I'm still looking for a good mount for it :D)

I couldn't get thru the first 30 seconds of the "elite team fighter" Ninja videos!

He's right about slings, though. All slings suck. Single points most of all.

Until I saw the photos posted today I'd never seen a "backwards" front sight.

Whats funny, is when I was in the Corps, all we used were single point slings.. and they did suck.Allot of us would remove them while in the field on maneuvers, unless we were humping somewhere, then the sling was put back on to carry it on your back. We didn't have 3 point slings or anything I would call tactical really, what I would call, fancy equipment they have today.
We used iron sights all the time, no red dots, no scopes, no holographic sights, just good old irons and using your wit and smarts/training to shoot your targets.

the videos were good, but seems like these guys are a little overboard on the "ninja" attire.
At least he did always clear the weapons to make sure they were not loaded and said to keep your finger off the trigger.

And what is a mall ninja.
Internet lore says that the legendary “GECKO45″ is the original "Mall Ninja" He showed up on a bunch of firearms forums a few years back, he has since dissapeared like a good ninja should. :)

You can, and should read his ramblings, as they are very funny, and sad at the same time.

Much of his wacky ranting is archived at "The Shrine of the Mall Ninja"

I still get a kick out of the 30 something guys who speak about being Rangers in Nam or wherever.

And they always seem to have gold chains and manicures.

It has to be the same mindset that causes people to wear their hats sideways or baggy pants with their crack (not the baggie in their pocket) showing. :D
