But I think it’s mostly some kind of fish.

It is texturized fish protein called surimi made from groundfish, primarily pollock, but sometimes hake. Very popular in Japan. Much of it is caught by large catcher/processors in the Bering Sea.

With surimi the contents are “fish” and that’s it. This new plant based stuff probably has a laundry list of unpronounceable ingredients. No thanks.

I've had Gardein plant-based fishless filets, and they're really good. They smell and taste like fish, though the texture is a bit more dense. Some malt vinegar and tartar sauce goes great with them.

If you read about all the stuff happening on the open seas, you’ll conclude that nowadays Blackbeard and Captain Kidd would have decided on a career in accounting instead of taking the risks of putting out to sea

Our Mountain Feist, Teddy, whose favorite treat is road kill in August in Arkansas when the temp is above 100 degrees, was given 1/2 of an Impossible Whopper by one of my son’s friends (he was trying it on a bet).

Teddy spit out the Impossible Whopper. He has no future with Burger King Ads like that Chihuahua with Taco Bell.

When I have a vegan breakfast or any other meal, that means I eating a vegan for that meal! The pig I ate was vegan against his will!

I did have vegan "Chicken and Waffles" at a vegan dinner three weeks ago tomorrow. The plant based chicken was very good! The $13.25 for 6 bites of waffle with some deep fried plant on it was not so good!

This thread got me thinking about powdered alcohol. Just add water. Much in the news a few years ago. Looked it up but beyond the initial furor it occasioned, does does not seem to have developed a market.
