NRA Breifing Will Be

I can't imagine they can say anything that the 'other side' will be happy with. They better not tick off members, I know that much. It's a loose-loose situation to me...dan

One of the things that has hurt the NRA over the years is members that don't hear exactly what "they" want so they quit, kinda like taking your ball and going home! Rest assured you will not like all that you hear. But now is the time for more support not less and NRA members arguing among each other is exactly what they want at this juncture. Stay united!

I respectfully disagree. One of the things that has hurt the NRA is the type of 'compromise' which does nothing to address the so-called 'gun violence problem' (doesn't really exist). This only fuels the antis determination to come back for more. Would they come out and support the repeal of the No Gun Zone laws, which would probably have a greater impact on mass shootings (though these are so rare as to be not a real 'problem' at all) ? Would they come out in sympathy for the victims of this attack, but also point out how extremely rare and unlikely such events are - - - less than the likelihood of being struck by lightening ? Or will they also be caught up in the emotion driven hype and play the other sides game ? Can they communicate this effectively ?
That said, I am an NRA life member. Ive appreciated what theyve done for the 2nd Amendment. They are the biggest pro gun voice out there. I'll be listening to see what their staff comes up with.

There's also Gun Owners of America ( gunowners.org ) and Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership ( jpfo.org ) They often take a more hardcore stance on the 2A and I like that. I'm a member of these two organizatios. BTW - I'm not Jewish & you don't have to be to join JPFO. They know history and what happens when citizens lose the right to defend themselves effectvely with firearms.

Pointshoot, I follow what your saying and certainly acknowledge your right to disagree with anything I or someone else might say. But my point was to remain united regardless of what is said today, you made that point also by not particularly agreeing with all that the NRA has or has not done but remaining a member. I can't count the number of people I've met over the years that have stopped being a member because of a minor irritation with something NRA related.
