Over-height load without permit
Unsafe/unsecured load
Unfortunately, if we arrested all the idiots, we would run out of jail space before noon on the first day. I think a better program would be arrest, neuter, and release...at least that would cut down on the future populace of idjits....

I'm surprised that Chevy could handle a load that heavy? lolWhat else can you say? These guys was going down a U.S. four lane divided highway. They didn't even take the back streets that are available.
I know there are a lot of LEO on this website, what violations are occurring here besides public stupidity?

Saw this coming home from church. Turned around to get the pic. They turned off US Hwy onto local street heading towards subdivisions. Didn't follow any further. Couldn't believe what I was seeing.
I moved a house in 2005 but had to remove roof, get permits, lift low telephone lines and traffic lights, LE escort, etc. I little more complicated than this!

I am not sure what all the fuss is about. I worked in a profession that had a saying that was told to me on the first day of a 50-year career. If you can't do it, we don't need you. Get it done or go home and we will get someone who can, was another way of saying the same thing. No excuses. Having a commercial driver's license since I was 18 years old, and now 69, that allows me to drive anything with wheels, this is not as bad as it looks. The load is approximately 11.5' wide. The laws allow 12 feet without pilot car and special lighting. The driver is in the center turn lane apparently getting ready to make a turn. His turn signals are either not on or in mid blink. No other motorist seems to be in danger or distress. He? should have flagging on either corner but can't entirely fault him after observing people at Home Depot loading their vehicles.

A few months ago I was sitting on Highway 1 just watching traffic flow. A car pulled up behind be and said that the hood of a car on a transporter had blown off and landed on the roadway a short way in front of his car.
I caught up to the transporter and stopped it. Sure enough a black SUV facing rearward, right at the back of the top deck, had no hood.
I really had to stop from laughing when the driver told me it was an unmarked police vehicle that had been totalled in a crash. As the hood wouldn't close they had put in on backward to stop the hood from flying up and off.
"Well it didn't work did it"? I said to the driver.
He had plenty of strops to tie the hood down, so I made him put one on every car on his transporter with a damaged hood. Then I issued him a $650 ticket for insecure landing on a commercial vehicle.
First one of those I've written in a looong time.
They say there's one born every second and I guess it's true.

I don't have any close photos of another odd transport style common in the oil fields. Heavy, long drill collars or pipes that need to be moved and only a pickup available is not a problem. Simply drive the pickup over the top of the pipe. Then with a jack, raise one end up until it touchs the bumper. Then chain it tight, then jack up the other end until it touches the other bumper and chain it tight. Now it is slung under the truck and ready to travel. Odd looking but effective.
