Overall I've had good experiences with them. The one problem I've had is that sometimes they do send the wrong part. I suppose it's inevitable considering the volume and selection of parts they have.

Their customer service is very good, although it can take some time to get through to them.

I contacted Numrich about buying the parts for my RG14. The hammer pivot broke and when I took it apart and found the potmetal hammer. I decided not to waste time and money fixing it.
Numrich gave me $20 for the parts, not including the frame. They depend on people giving them information on the parts they're sending to them. I've still got the frame and it makes a dandy paperweight.

The part I sent back today was a NIB Meprolight night sight. The listing and picture on the web site indicated it was for the 3900, 4000, and 5900 series guns with Novak Low Mount fixed sites. What they sent me was the version for the adjustable rear sight version, which is completely different. It's a simple mistake and I never noticed it. It was the gun smith that was going to do the install who picked up on it.

With used parts, I think you are 100% correct. They buy a lot of odds and ends from individuals and if the individual gives them bad information, they have no practical way to discover that.

All of that being said, I have bought some parts both used and new for older guns. And they have a very good return policy.

They have saved my bacon with hard to find items a few times. I also appreciate their online exploded parts diagrams of oddball guns. That said, I've also had them ship the wrong part or substitute a generic one.

They actually had hammers for a 1963 Herbert Schmidt .22 revolver. The first hammer they sent me had a worn out single action sear, the second one required a little fitting but it worked just fine.

I've had very good luck getting parts for my Marlin, Colt, and Winchester through Numrich. Shipping is a bit expensive, IMHO, but it's their ball and court.

My experience is that they only have the parts I have needed about 50% of the time. The other thing that frustrates me is you never know if they are going to contact you days after placing the order and tell you they no longer have that part. I find myself using them less & less and using alternate sources more often.
