This is for New Yorkers only to sign!!!!!

Senator Michael Nozzolio of NY has entered a bill to repeal NY's draconian safe act. Please take a minute to sign the petition in support of this action. Please also forward this link to your NY 2A buddies. Again, only NYers are eligible to sign.

FYI, Senator Nozzolio represents the Finger Lake Region of NY. He is a long time supporter of gun enthusiasts and sportsmen and a very strong voice for our causes in Albany.

Sign The Petition to Support Senator Nozzolio's Legislation, S.5626 | New York State Senate

Thanks!

Please explain to me how governor Cuomo will repeal this law? It is a waste of time to fight for a repeal. All these online petitions mean absolutely nothing.

This is a bill in the NYS Senate introduced by a NYS Senator. He asked those effected by the safe act to show our support of his efforts. I'm thankful for his desire to adhere to the Constitution and not roll over.

Will something come of it? I hope so, but signing the petition and showing your support would have been quicker that submitting your above post.

I can't control what cuomo does, but promise that I will do everything in my power to repeal this law and make it as uncomfortable as possible for those who voted for it as I can. You're welcome.

One of my classmates married a young lady from NY and remained there after being discharged from the USAF, I cut and pasted it and sent it to him hoping he will join the fight. In response to those who are doubters: We may not win but I ain't going without a fight, someway, someday there has to be a way for all of us to be on the same team.

You do realize that the governor would be the one who would sign the appeal, right? More time spending the efforts in court is how we will win, not some feel good measure.

You do realize that every time this comes to a NYS legislative chamber floor that the representatives must once again vote and face their constituents to support their vote?

You do realize that if the NYS Senate takes up this measure that the safe act will finally get the proper amount of debate and a ton of publicity that lacked before cuomo rammed it through? The petition adds credence and credibility to merit a vote.

You do realize that since the passage of this law most NYS counties, municipalities and police agencies have condemned it?
You do realize that these folks live in Senate districts? You do realize that Senators must run for reelection?

You do realize that since it was passed public sentiment has become known and it ain't popular with the upstate folks?

You do realize that this is an election year and many reps and mr. cuomo are up for re-election?

You do realize that all of those USHoR votes against the affordable healthcare act did not get it repealed, but it made for some real awkward town meetings for US Congressmen who supported it? You do realize that the HoR held these votes even though they knew it wouldn't make it to the US Senate or never be signed by the POTUS right?

I do realize that if the NYS Senate passes this measure shelly silver will never let it on the floor for a vote in the NYS Assembly and that cuomo will never sign it, but it will keep it in the news and it will make these cowards who passed it in the dead of night have to again vote on it and support that vote again.

If you don't want to sign it then don't, but please don't sabotage any effort to keep it in the media or from the baby steps needed in our ultimate goal of repeal.

Spending efforts that will not effect outcomes is a waste. Writing or calling your representatives and senators will do far more than beating the drum of repeal.

Sorry we will never agree on this point, but thank you for your consideration and enlightening points.

Sign or don't sign Senator Nozzolio's personal request for support as you see fit. But please give thought to forwarding the link to all of your contacts who value their 2A rights. Perhaps they will find it a useful tool in our fight.

Did you miss the part where this Bill is sponsored by a New York State Senator?

Any and all negative publicity that can be shed on the Safe Act is a good thing.
Remember that this is an election year. This year we have the chance to throw Andrew Cuomo out of the governor's mansion.
If we can raise support and awareness to anti-Safe Act initiatives by any legal means, why wouldn't we? Why shouldn't we?

Will Cuomo ever sign a repeal bill? Of course not.
Our next governor might though, if we Pro-Second Amendment supporters can muster enough political pressure against them.
Colorado managed to make history this year by throwing out some of their anti-gun "representatives". Why can't it happen here?

It's time for us Pro-gun NY'ers to demand that we be represented in this state. It's time for us to demand that we stop being legislated against.

Don't count on a court ruling to get rid of the Safe Act either - we've already been ruled against once, just a few weeks ago.

If you refuse to support this anti-Safe Act initiative, that's fine. That is your decision. At the very least, you could stop clouding up this thread with negative posts.

Im not from NY, but by NOT supporting this, you contribute to one less needed vote against it. No offense meant.

These things send strong messages to those who openly abuse power and also shows them that not everyone is on board as a lemming willing to just walk off a cliff for them.
