Observations on life and ageing

#6 and #17 have real relevance to me. Am thinking something happened only couple years ago, when am getting reminded it was over 10 years ago.

Some friends like to say "squirrel" as my change of directions in conversation can be entertaining at best, or very annoying at worst.

#8 is me.

I'm a GenXer and as I get older, I, more and more, hear myself saying to folks telling long drawn out stories, "Get to the point, please", "Cut to the chase" or my favorite, "And... Then, what happened?" with the hand motion to hurry up.

Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.

A friend has a business and employs a lot of people. One time I asked him "How many people work there?". He thought for a few seconds and said "About 1/2 of them".
Probably the same guy whose factory was being inspected by the feds for some reason or another who, when asked, "And give me a count of your workers broken down by sex," thought a bit and said, "Well, I got some folks with alcohol issues but don't think I have any of those..."

AN old friend asked me whay do you know? I said nothing, he said here's two things you should know. It takes a big dog to weigh a ton, and all around a pigs a** is pork.

I got a real observation on aging today. I woke up this morning with a cramp in my right calf. I got it worked out, but the CPAP mask seemed to be making it tougher to breathe. I took off the mask and went out to the great room to check my blood pressure and it was high and wouldn't go down. With too many things seeming to be not quite right I called 911 and ended up spending a good chunk of today in the Hanover (PA) Hospital. The doctor came back eventually and said that I had a clean bill of health. So I asked him why were all of these things happening to me, and he said, "Sometimes your body just does funny things." So I finally got home at about 4:00 PM and I've been home and feeling back to normal. I guess the lesson is don't be afraid to call for help when you think things are not quite right. Nobody knows your body like you do.
