Odd 308 Ammo

Anyone have any info on this ammo? 7.62x51 The picture isn't great, the ammo is actually clean and shiny.

Someone gave me 300 rounds today.

Israeli. TZ and TZZ are IMI headstamps.The vast majority of Israeli ammo, in all calibers, is great stuff. However, a couple of lots of T Z 80 7.62x51 have caused some problems. Not all the 1980 production was bad, but two lots had bad brass apparently. If you search enough you can find the lot numbers. I just avoid all T Z 80 .308.

If that's true you might want to pull the bullets and reuse them while tossing the brass into the scrap bucket. The powder can be used on the 4th of July or in the garden. Not bad for free...

Maybe the FAL needs its gas adjusting to shoot that stuff. Either that or the Israelis loaded these rounds with a slow powder for some reason. In my experience slow powder can sometimes be beyond the adjustment capabilities of the FAL.
