Went and shot this weekend and when I got home I noticed a 1 inch scratch on the top of the mag on the outside edge. It's hard to explain and I'm not worried about cosmetics, but just making sure nothing is wrong internally. The scratch is in the same spot on both mags and I didn't shoot out of one of them this weekend. Any advice would be great!

Are you saying one magazine received the scratch without being shot?

"I didn't shoot out of one of them this weekend."

If so, what and/or how do you store your magazines? Plus, as others have stated, a picture can be worth a 1,000 words.

If I had to guess the magazine catch is dragging as you insert the magazines. See this a lot when people are practicing fast reloads. The single column mags will scratch all the way down to the mag catch hole but the staggered mags get the scratch on the slope and sometimes but not always down to the hole.

Chip has nailed it --the mag catch. You can reverse the catch and it will wear the other side. It is not a problem. Go shoot.

It's good to know that this is normal.
Thank you guys for the help. So there's nothing I can do correct?

All 3 of my mags have the same scratch too..... Nothing to worry about.

The only way to avoid that is to do one of the following:

1. Stop inserting them into the pistol
B. Push the magazine release button upon inserting and removing the magazine
III. Repaint them every time you reload
