Officers Shot and Killed at College in Va.

Thoughts and prayers are needed for the officers, families and community of Bridgewater College in Va. Yesterday afternoon two officers were killed while investigating a suspicious person call on the campus of Bridgewater College in the Shenandoah Valley of Va. A suspect has been arrested. It is just now making the national news outlets.

The Campus Law Enforcement and Security Community in Va. is a tight knit group and this is a terrible tragedy. I was chief of a small campus department for 30 years in Va before retirement. Campus officers are an integral part of the college communities they serve and protect. A lot of details are yet to be released but I feel these officers probably kept the campus from a more widespread killing.

Virginia State Police is investigating. The arrested suspect was a 27 year old former student at the college. Here is their website. Heard some details from former campus LE colleagues but can't share.
