Two Deputies shot, killed

Early information is that two Gilchrist County Deputies were shot in Trenton Florida this afternoon. Shooter is also dead. Gilchrist County SO say the deceased deputies are 30-year-old Sgt. Noel Ramirez, a 7 year veteran of the force, and 25-year-old Deputy Taylor Lindsey, a 3 year veteran.

Officers were inside restaurant when shooter shot and killed them through front window.

Initial info seems to indicate an ambush.

Prayers for the lost LEO's, family and community.

Senseless violence against the people (LEO's) who serve and protect no matter what race, creed or color we are.

When I started in the early 1970's, the most we worried while eating in a restaurant was having an employee spit in our food. Prayers for families and fellow LEO's. The gene pool in this country is turning into a cesspool.

I have a good friend that a 35+ Leo with his dept . He says they don't eat out hardly at all because they have had employees poison their food .

My brother always looked for a safe place to sit............
where ever he went out to eat.

Otherwise he did not go into that place that did not meet his needs.

The papers had some info about the shooter. "White male mid 50's, 5'8" 125#, lived at the end of a dirt road, by himself. Rarely went to town. Neighbors never heard him talk to anybody. Minor run ins with LE years ago." Cheese musta just slid off'n his cracker and suddenly seemed like a good idea to off some cops on lunchbreak and then blow his brains out. I just can't wrap my brain around such a thing. If'n you don't want to "be here" (one of the responses to Shakespeare's question) you have every right to "go" but no right to carjack anyone else into the ride. Joe
