I still think of myself as "unemployed", not "retired", because still can't draw a check from Social Security for nearly another year.

For the first 3 months or so I was going out of my mind. I continually felt like I was cheating someone and shouldn't be walking around doing whatever I like during the day...that feeling passes!

Congratulations. If you're like most of us you'll find something to stay busy with. I "retired" at 47...Yeah right...Farmed Guided hunters and fishermen gun shop etc etc. So retired longer than "paid work" Enjoy every day. do the little things you always wanted to. It IS kinda neat to clean out the bucket list Have some fun

What is this "retirement" that you speak of?.

That's when you don't go to your regular job, you stay home and do all the stuff you put off until you had time to do it. Now, though, you might not have the money and/or stamina to do it.
