Got a Model 52! It's a 52-1 with box too! I actually sold my 52-2 a couple of years ago and i regretted it ever since....I actually prefer the looks without the huge external extractor but I can sure deal with that. The question is, where can I get a bushing wrench?

Congratulations. We have all "lost" a gun we regretted, glad you got one back. I have seen Model 52 bushing wrenches on Gunbroker before. Might be a good place to check.

If you don't show us a picture it didn't happen!

Search gunbroker for "smith and wesson model 52 bushing wrench". There is one with five days left on the auction available now. Eaglebeaver

Unfortunately I live North of 49 and he won't ship internationally. I'll keep my eyes open though guys - thanks for the help.

Numrich has the bushing wrench for $7 plus shipping. Since you've already owned a 52, you probably know not to overtightend the bushing using the wrench. In fact most folks will tell you to hand tighten it only.

Absolutely right but hearing that is always good advice. I've "got" to have the wrench to complete the 'ensemble'. :)

You have a very nice 52-1 there. Now that you have a lead on your bushing wrench, and can complete your ensemble, enjoy one of the best target guns made.

Thanks guys, this is going to be a great training tool.....there's NO excuse for missing!!

I might disagree with you on the "no excuse for missing". There's always plenty. I sold my 52-2 in 2004. I shot bullseye with it, but I found it too critical and non-forgiving. If I'm just a little off with a 1911 I'll throw a 9, if I'm off with a 52 I throw a 7. Maybe it was just me, but I could shoot the 1911 much better so use it in the center-fire as well as the 45 match. I probably should have hung on to it a bit longer with the prices what they have gone up to. I sold mine with 6 magazines, a pair of Herritt National target grips, and 500 Star 148 gr HBWC's for $850. That did happen to be double what I paid for it, so I guess I got my use out of it.

Very interesting....."too unforgiving"...I can see that for sure.

Hey, Have a great Memorial Day!
