I posted this pistol shortly after completing over 70 hours of work on it. At the time, I included pictures with it wearing a set of plain walnut boot grips that I found in the shop. Also in that post I said I was working getting it some new pants.

Well, it took a while but I finally located a "T" grip adapter and figured out how to give it a matte finish. I also found and ordered a set of bonded, aged, ivory grips which took about three weeks to get here. (Real ivory was a bit too spendy.) It took about 30 minutes of careful filing to fit the adapter. No sooner was that completed and I broke the left panel of said grips by over tightening the grip screw in a moment of inattention. There certainly is nothing like that sinking feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you realize you just made a stupid mistake.

Ordered a second set after the company graciously offered to sell them at a generous discount. They would come with the correctly sized holes so that all I would have to do is swap out the antiqued medalion. I figured I could handle that. They arrived Tuesday but I was just too busy to fool with them. Today, I'm tickled to say: this project is finally done!!!

I think it came out alright. What do you think?

What do I think?

I think I want to know what you charge to do a model 686-5 Plus 4" to come out with the same pattern. :)

OUTSTANDING is what I think and am I understanding you correct that you are the engraver on this project? If so, I think you've found your calling.

VERY nice looking revolver. VERY nice.

Outstanding work of art. You are a true master!!
