Ok...so I was a trigger guard snob...

I've ended up liking both. I think if they had stuck with the square on the third gens, and not given us the option, we'd have all been fine.

If I had my choice, every pistol would have the round guard of the 39's on it. It's very similar to the round guard on the early CZ 75's, I didn't like it when they switched those either.

I like the round trigger guard better. I just think it looks better.

I have always thought that I was in the rounded trigger guard camp. That is all that I own and like someone else posted, I never looked twice at a squared one. However, after reading this thread, I may try to find a squared one for myself.

Now if only I had the extra cash! Is there much difference in the pricing between the versions?

LOL love a good nonsense thread.......

Good to know I am not the only one fretting over such a small thing. I was too in the "rounded" camp when I got my 4506-1 but I sold it and now have a 4506 squared on the way and cant wait. Just as 5906 fan said pistol whiping would be brutal with the squared (I thought I was the only one who thought about something such as that, maybe I'm not crazy)

What I figured out from experience was that I didn't like the blued hammer and trigger on the 4506-1 that had a rounded trigger seemed like it was hard to keep clean and liked to ged a little red film on my rag after being in the woods and rain for prolonged periods;). The 4506 I am getting has trigger and hammer in stainless which I think looks good with the little bit of extra stainless metal the squared trigger guard provides. I dont know the specifics on if any squared had blued trigger and hammer or if any rounded had stainless but from what I have mostly found alot of rounded have blued and alot of squared have stainless:rolleyes:.

All I know is I missed my 4506-1 after I sold it and I now have a 4506 on the way and that sucker is going NOWHERE EVER. I have very few guns I put in that category but this one has found a home for good.
