Old 22 ammo pick up

In the mid 70's Columbus had a discount chain called Gold Circle. They treated camping gear and ammo as a "Summer Seasonal" and put it on clearance the next week after Labor Day. Starting in 1974 I would stock up every fall on 22 LR, 32 ACP and 20 gauge.. By October 1st, the inventory would be down to a few odd & ends. I would make the department manager a offer to take everything that was left. I still have a 50 Cal ammo can packed tight of Thunderbolt and Wildcat with 79 cent price tags, but probably averaged 20-25 cent a box. I looked last month and still have 2 boxes of Remington 32ACP fmj, that I have less than a $1.50 in! At one time I had over 40 boxes. Made great trading material. (plus I had a Nazi PPk in 32) Since the close was in the early fall, the 20 gauge ammo was very sparce. I did have hundreds of 10 packs of Bernekie Rifled Slugs. They got popular in the 80's!

About 10 or 11 years ago I sold a brick of one lot # Thunderbolts for $85! He had an old Anschutz 2000, and that was the only ammo it shot well! I let him know that I could keep doing this, as that ammo was getting scarce! :) :)
