OLD HOLLYWOOD/CELEBRITY PHOTOS

Mel Brooks told a story about having dinner with Alfred Hitchcock. Hitchcock had just finished eating in the restaurant when Brooks walked in. Hitchcock invited him to join him and told the waiter to bring him another meal.

While they were eating Grace Kelly came by and stopped to talk to Hitchcock. After she walked off he looked over at Brooks and said, "The most promiscuous woman in Hollywood".

Talking about being "promiscuous", Princess Summer, Fall, Winter, & Spring from the Howdy Doody show tried to sleep with all the male characters on the show.

Somehow I have missed this thread until today. Thanks for the memories. ;)

I have some pictures in my office that I think y'all will like. Three are Marilyn Monroe on pages of 1950s magazines, either Life or Look. One is a framed MM photo from February 1954, showing MM entertaining Troops in Korea. One is a picture of Rin Tin Tin, signed by the human stars of the show, Lee Aker/"Rusty", and James Brown/"Rip". The last picture is one of Dita Von Teese and I cannot recall where I obtained it but she's way up there in the realm of Hollywood pinup "girls".

Masks that I do like.

I got to meet Van Williams, who played the Green Hornet on TV back in the mid-1960s. He appeared at a comic convention in Gaithersburg, MD. The show had been off the air for something like 20 years, but he was genuinely touched that people still remembered him. When I asked him if I could stand next to him for a picture together, he put his arm around my shoulder and grabbed my hand with his other hand for the picture. Nothing Hollywood about him.

I’m going to break out my magnifying glass. My Dad had pictures of Marylin performing in Korea. Maybe I can find him in the crowd. ;)
