I was researching an older Luger for a friend and dug out this old book. It did not help my research but got me curious about its origin. It is 4" x 7", has 41 pages and is in english. It refers to the magazine as the "CARTRIDGE HOLDER". There are no dates or any other information on its origin.
Anybody here ever seen one of these or have any information on it?

Probably a reprint of an original user manual. New Luger pistols were sold at retail commercially in the USA prior to WWI. I have a 1914 catalog that lists them. I also have a fairly unusual (very) limited edition book that documents the so-called American Eagle Lugers once considered for adoption by the U. S. Army.

It is a reprint(probably) of a 1906 manual but all of the ones I have seen have a red cover. If interested in any further reading about these you can go to landofborchardt dot com/para_manuals.html#images.

When I looked it up, I saw both the red and green covered books and all had 1964 as the published date.
