Gentlemen: your assistance, please, with a S&W topbreak, nickel, .32, grip safety (is that a "lemon squeezer?). Hard rubber grips and hammerless. Serial Number: 79X.

Anything you can tell me about this would be great! Passed down through the family to me.

Thanks in advance!

Steve,
The first thing I can tell you is that you posted this in the wrong section. You should have posted it in the section above this one as it's not a Hand Ejector, it's a top break. Beyond that, the helpfull stuff:

It's a .23 Safety Hammerless 1st Model aka Lemon Squeezer, manufactured between 1888 and 1902. There were 91,417 made in those 14 years. With that said, your's was likely made in the first year or so. If it has a 2" or 6" barrel it will likely be worth quite a bit depending on condition. I'm guessing you aren't trying to sell it anyway, just wanted to mention that in case you are going to insure this gun. This gun was made for black powder ammunition; as such, if you desire to shoot it you will most likely have to hand load for it with a light powder like Trail Boss or a BP substitute.

If you can take some good quality pics and post them here we would all appreciate it. The moderators will likely move this thread to the correct section for you when they see it here.
