I think I get your drift. I remember being a rookie cop, being issued a S&W model 10. While in the academy I went out and purchased a model 49 Bodyguard and a Bianchi 9R holster. I wore it off-duty and as a backup. For some insane and crazy reason I thought I was well protected with that set up for years. I'm still here and so is the rig. When I wear it(rarely) it takes me right back to being a young strapping cop, ready to face anything. It was, as they say, the "hot setup" at the time. For me, it is a nice time machine that evokes pleasant thoughts and memories. I will never part with it. Hard for me to believe that myself and many others hit the streets with nothing more. For many years as well! Nowadays we cant leave the house without a plastic gun and 2 extra magazines. At least that's what we are often told to believe.
