Visiting my son in the Carolinas. When he left the Marines I promised he could have any 4 handguns and one of them he took was a snub 66-1 with Herrett grips that he uses for EDC. The others were my 686-4 6" with Allesi shoulder holster, HK VP9 with German import marks and a Remington 1911R1 close to the last runs out of Ilion NY.

Flying down and didn't want the hassle of going through Maryland with possible flight delays due to ice

He said,"Here Pops! You'll feel better with this on!"
I AIWB carry and it was easy under a polo shirt
Surprisingly comfortable over my normal 442 carried in the same place.

In terms of a new carry
I got to meet my first Grandson!
He's an absolute joy and I love to walk him around the property if I can pry him out of Grandmas hands

Once I get back home I'm gonna start looking for a snub K frame and up my game a bit
Although I am very tempted by the Sig 365 my buddy raves about

Congratulations on your first grandson! As for a snub nose K-frame for carry, those with 2 inch (38 Special only) or 2.5 inch (357 Magnum) barrels have a short ejector rod. Those with a 3 inch barrel have a full length ejector rod. I think the slightly longer barrel is not an impediment to concealed carry and the full length ejector rod is a huge benefit. Also, round butt makes the biggest difference to keeping a K-frame from printing.

The current production 19-9/66-8 come with round butts and the 66-8 can be had with a 2.75 inch barrel. The 19-9/66-8 also have a different barrel system that eliminates the weak, flat spot on the bottom of the barrel extension/forcing cone and the front cylinder lock is not on the ejector rod tip, but is a lock between the cylinder crane and frame, a much better system. If looking at a new S&W, be sure to thoroughly inspect it before buying as S&W seems to be suffering from QC issues.
