This L frame yoke on ebay is advertised as an "old style" yoke, looking at the securing screw "V" cut I would think it's a new style?

It should be fine. There are manufacturing tolerances that may make it require some hand fitting. There is a chance it will be a drop in part. The length of the crane barrel may need to be fitted to the depth of a particular cylinder.

Thanks

Picking up my 5" 986 tomorrow and located a 581 yoke to work with (as discussed)...it is the "Old/New" style.
